Map the Gaps Symposium
From November 6th- 8th, Science Liaison Katie Sheahan and Board Member Norma Trease represented SeaKeepers at the Map the Gaps Symposium in Monaco. Held at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco, the symposium focused on new technologies and solutions, as well as the IHO-led citizen science effort to gather depth data using crowdsourced bathymetry.

SeaKeepers at Winterfest Family Fun Day 2023 | On November 19th, SeaKeepers' Education team participated in the annual Stoked On Salt Conservation Village as a part of the Winterfest 2023 Family Fun Day. Antigua Yacht Charter Show | From December 4th - 9th, SeaKeepers' Program Development Manager, Aubri Keith, attended the Antigua Charter Yacht Show. We established meaningful connections to promote conservation efforts with charter yachts and their crews, as well as marine vendors and organizations within the yachting industry. | |

SeaKeepers x Canvas of the Wild Present the "Wildscapes Unveiled" Mural Project |
In partnership with the talented team at Canvas of the Wild, SeaKeepers is excited to present the “Wildscapes Unveiled” educational outreach project. Our goal is to invite South Florida students to explore three vital native environments; the Everglades, Mangrove Forests, and the Western Central Atlantic Pelagic.
Beginning in January of 2024, the mobile displays will be showcased at Overtown Youth Center in Miami, Florida, as an ongoing local educational collaboration with SeaKeepers. Additionally, the explorable digital versions of the habitats will be accessible through the Canvas of the Wild knowledge base, with the e-workbook “Exploring South Florida Habitats,” available to the public for download globally via the SeaKeepers and Canvas of the Wild websites.

Monthly Morningside Park
Cleanup

SeaKeepers hosted our first cleanup of the year at Morningside Park. We were joined by 35 volunteers who set out to clean over 200 pounds of trash.

SeaKeepers is proud to partner with Open Water, the world's first aluminum canned water. With the goal of ocean conservation through the elimination of single-use plastics, Open Water has extended a generous grant of $10,000 USD to SeaKeepers.
This contribution from Open Water is specifically intended to amplify youth engagement within the realm of ocean conservation through SeaKeepers' educational and outreach programs. The partnership between Open Water and SeaKeepers intends to positively impact numerous students and volunteers through fostering a meaningful connection between the community and the valuable marine resources we all share.
