South Street Seaport Museum Archives.
It's the 10th anniversary of Archtober, the month-long celebration of architecture in and around New York, and we thought it would be fun to highlight some particular "gems" from around the South Street Seaport Historic District. Our Director of Collections explores the stories of many of these 18th- and 19th-century structures, their styles, former occupants, changes in use, historical happenings, and restoration. Click below to visit the blog and read stories about some of our favorite local buildings and aspects of their history.
