Dear Members of the Gould Community,
The search committee, in conjunction with our consultants from RG 175, has been hard at work since the school year ended. As we mentioned in our last update, the Head of School position has drawn a great deal of interest. Gould and its spectacular location have impressed our prospective candidates.
RG 175 received 34 completed applications by the end of the application period. These applications featured many highly qualified people with relevant experience in both boarding schools and experiential education. There were applications from experienced Heads of School and from dynamic people ready to step up and become Heads of School. Applications were received from the West, the Midwest, and the South, as well as New England.
The search committee began reviewing these applications after the Fourth of July. On July 19, the committee and our consultants from RG 175 met to discuss our impressions after reading through all of the applicants’ submitted materials.
We have now selected nine semi-finalists to interview on August 10 – 11. Our nine semi-finalists are all highly qualified and exciting people and include a mix of men and women. We are all looking forward to meeting these candidates in August.
At the completion of the semi-finalist interviews, the committee will select finalists. Each finalist will come to Gould in September for three days to meet with the Gould community. This will be your opportunity to meet with the finalists and to complete a survey sharing your thoughts with the search committee.
We would like to thank the members of the search committee for their diligent work in this process. All of us are very excited that so many outstanding people want to join the Gould community. We want to thank all of you for your continued interest in this process, and we will provide another update whenever we have new information to share.
We hope everyone is enjoying summer and the chance to spend time with family and friends. We look forward to selecting our finalists and sharing these candidates with the Gould community.
