Seaside surgeons named "Top Physicians"

No, this isn't the Seaside version of Hollywood Squares (remember that show?) but these nine surgeons ARE stars in their own right - all selected as Naples Illustrated's "Top Physicians" 2019! Congratulations!

Pictured, left to right, top to bottom: In the orthopedic surgery category, H. Kurtis Biggs, DO, Evgeny Krynetskiy, MD, and Robert J. Zehr, MD, were chosen. Drs. Biggs and Zehr are the co-founders of Seaside Surgery Center. Steven S. Goldberg, MD, was honored in the orthopedic surgery and sports medicine category. Brian Wallace, DO, was named in the sports medicine category. Podiatric surgeons Christopher J. Calcagni, DPM, and Jamie Weaver, DPM, were honored in their specialties. Carmella Fernandez, MD, was chosen in the hand surgeon category. Paul Beebe, MD, was selected in the pain medicine category.

Seaside surgeon earns second board certification

Seaside surgeon partner Christopher J. Calcagni, DPM, has received board certification by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. The ABPM is the  only board recognized by the Joint Committee on the Recognition of Specialty Boards, under the authority of the American Podiatric Medical Association to certify in podiatric orthopedics and primary podiatric medicine.
In 2018, Dr. Calcagni was certified inLower Extremity Medicine and Surgery by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery,  a not-for-profit, multidisciplinary, autonomous certification board that has been recognized for its rigorous performance-based certification processes for more than 30 years.

Specializing in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Calcagni has been in practice since 2009. He has taken courses from the AO Institute, Wright Medical, and Arthrex. Dr. Calcagni has special interests in wound care and diabetic limb salvage, with advanced training in hyperbaric medicine.
As a former high school and college athlete, Dr. Calcagni is passionate about sports medicine as it pertains to foot and ankle health. He was a standout football player in Ohio and he went on to play for Oklahoma State University from 1999 to 2002.

After graduating from Oklahoma State, he returned to Ohio and graduated from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2006. Dr. Calcagni completed his residency training in 2009 at Western Reserve Care Systems, where he served as chief resident for one of the top three-year foot and ankle residency programs in Ohio. He has since been providing foot and ankle care to athletes of all ages.
Seaside surgeon named "Florida Top Doc"

Seaside surgeon partner Evgeny Krynetskiy, M.D., has been named a Florida Top Doctor by FL Top Docs, a division of USA Top Docs, LLC. Dr. Krynetskiy is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery.
Following his graduate work at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Krynetskiy completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. 
During his residency training, Dr. Krynetskiy worked at Philadelphia's Shriners Hospital, where he came in contact with patients from many countries, many of whom were suffering with complicated, chronic, lower extremity deformities. Inspired to seek advanced training, Dr. Krynetskiy completed a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at world-renowned Duke University Medical Center. 
He relocated to Southwest Florida, joining Seaside Surgery Center in 2018. In his private practice, Dr. Krynetskiy treats acutely injured patients as well as those with prior trauma or chronic inflammatory disease .
