Opening 2020
Every year our seasonals contact us about coming on the property in March, prior to the official opening in April.  We do not allow admittance before the official opening date due to the risk for damage to roads and property from driving in the campground when snow, ice, or other conditions exist.

We hope to be open for seasonals to check on their trailers and begin spring cleanup  April 4th and 5th from 9am-4pm. The water will be off, however, electric service will be available.  Campfires and overnight stays are prohibited until water is on.  If weather conditions allow, we'll turn the water on  April 17th.  The official announcement will be made on CampersApp and Facebook as we get closer to the date.

Gate access cards will be reactivated on April 4th.

Fun on the Lake!
This season we are retiring our iconic aluminum paddleboats that have been enjoyed for decades!  We have many happy memories watching our children and grandchildren paddle them around Fish Lake and lining the sandy shore to welcome the sunrise and set.

With the paddleboats gone comes an exciting announcement about a variety of new watercraft. Four new pedal boats will be available for rent starting in May. These new pedal boats comfortably accommodate 2 adults. Also, we have more double kayaks and a flat bottom canoes. The canoes offer paddling fun for 2 adults and 2 small children or 2 adults and a teen/tween.
Kayaks, paddleboards, rowboats and pedal boats may be rented by adults 18+. Individuals 13+ may use watercraft with parent or guardian permission in writing, by reading and completing rules compliance waiver. Watercraft usage is the responsibility of the renter and user. BOAT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Property Maintenance
Proper drainage is one of many complex maintenance challenges of a property as large as Fish Lake. Once the 2019 season ended Randy and the team began been working to resolve drainage issues that affect the R, F, E and M sites. They excavated and installed culvert pipe to create a new channel from Trailer Sales to the pond, and did some corrective excavation to facilitate better drainage in the F sites. Presently, the gravel road drainage is being addressed.

Pool Deck
Last year we promised to expand the size of the pool deck but the project was delayed until 2020. We're happy to say that we have completed this project! More lounge chairs were purchased to allow more campers to enjoy the pool area.

Marijuana
With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Illinois as of January 2020 we've established a restriction for its use at Fish Lake Beach. That restriction is:  "marijuana  cannot be smoked in public places at Fish Lake Beach where it can be seen by others." This restriction applies to all at Fish Lake Beach; seasonals, overnight campers and the public.
