The Dorset Players’ final production of Season 98 has officially opened to packed houses, standing ovations, and rave reviews — and there’s still time to join us for one last weekend at the Playhouse!

Dorset Players go ‘Rotten’ with song and dance spectacle

Set in 1595, Something Rotten! follows playwright brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they attempt to outshine Shakespeare by creating the world’s very first musical. Filled with outrageous comedy, big dance numbers, and unforgettable performances, this joyous production has quickly become a season favorite.

Final performances will be at the Dorset Playhouse, 104 Cheney Rd. Dorset on May 22 and 23 at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, May 24 at 2:00PM.

Dorset Players' Annual Meeting & 
Golden Circle Awards

Join us for an unforgettable evening as The Dorset Players hosts its new and improved Annual Meeting & Golden Circle Awards on Thursday, May 28th — a reimagined celebration honoring everyone who helped make our remarkable 98th season a success. 

The festivities will take place at The Inn at Manchester in the Celebration Barn. Doors open at 5:30 PM for cocktails (cash bar), and hors d'oeuvres. The Annual Meeting begins at 6:00 PM, with the Golden Circle Awards to follow shortly after. 

Guests are encouraged to dress in snazzy cocktail attire. Before the annual meeting begins, a group photo will immortalize this all-new event, so don’t hold back! Whatever the weather, the evening will be filled with games, music, entertainment, and celebration.

Celebration of Life

The Dorset Players also pause this week to remember Bill Childs, a valued member of our theater family whose kindness, dedication, and friendship touched so many within our community. Sheila Childs would like to thank the Dorset Players for their love and support through this difficult time.

A celebration of the life of Bill Childs will take place on Saturday, June 6 from 12-3 at The Dorset Inn, Dorset, VT, for a Memorial and Reception.

REMINDER: 
Playhouse Clean-Up & Turnover

Every year the members of the Dorset Players gather on Memorial Day in the morning to clean up the Playhouse for the turnover to DTF.

We will spend some time cleaning after the close of Something Rotten! on Sunday, May 24^th. We will then gather on May 25^th at 9AM to start the chores of getting the Playhouse ready. The Dorset Players will provide donuts and coffee for our volunteers. Please join us! If you don’t have time on Monday and would like to help out, call Paul Michael at 802-867-5570 and come in during the week (May 18^th -22^nd) to help get chores done. All help is accepted and needed.
