Dear OCSA Families,
As some of you may already know, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone OCSA’s Season Premiere 2022 due to inclement weather forecasts.
We know that many of our students, parents, community members, and staff were looking forward to Saturday’s kick-off event. As a fully outdoor event, even a small amount of rain could be detrimental to the production equipment, and unfortunately, moving Season Premiere indoors for this Saturday was not an option. While we hoped that the forecast would clear, we needed to make the call several days in advance in order to avoid financial penalties with our numerous event vendors and to prevent the loss of proceeds intended to directly benefit our students. Although we are disappointed to be making this change so close to our celebration, we feel confident that this is the best choice given the information currently available to us.
Season Premiere will now take place on Saturday, October 1! All attendees should have received a separate communication earlier today with details specific to their reservations.
IMPORTANT: Although Season Premiere has been postponed, the Staff Professional Development Day scheduled for this Friday, September 9 will still proceed as planned, meaning there will be NO SCHOOL this Friday for students.
Please stay tuned for additional information regarding this postponement, including next steps for our Season Premiere Opportunity Drawing.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this postponement may cause, but we look forward to celebrating Season Premiere and the launch of our 2022-2023 season next month.
All the best,
Teren Shaffer
