Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion in the mystical body of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Grant us grace to follow your blessed saints in lives of faith and commitment, and to know the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those who love you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.

from the Pastor...
"... I believe in the communion of saints" - what does this mean?
In our worship we confess(speak what we believe to be true) in the words of the Apostles’ Creed: I believe…in the communion of saints.
The "communion of saints" refers to all believers in the one holy catholic church, both living and dead, who are united in faith through Christ. This is an affirmation that all who are in Christ, regardless of their earthly status, are holy because they are "saints" in God's eyes, united by the Holy Spirit. This communion is a spiritual solidarity that binds believers together, and it's experienced in this life through shared faith and the proclamation of the Gospel, and extends to all who have died in Christ.
We are all one in Christ, united by our baptisms, connecting Dakota, who will be baptized Sunday, with ‘saints’ he has never met; all of us in all our uniqueness and humanity, the Body of Christ.

St. Paul recalls…
In November 2005, St. Paul’s celebrated its 80th Anniversary, looking forward to a bright future of service to its congregation and community, noting that it had changed from a German/Scandinavian background to a multi-racial, multi-ethnic family of worshipers. Trusting in the Holy Spirit’s guidance, the congregation looked toward the future with confidence – confident in its witness to its neighbors and community, confident to being open to helping those in need, and confident that the congregation will be moved, inspired, uplifted, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Thanks be to God!

All Saints Day
Saturday, November 1, 2025
The custom of commemorating all of the saints of the church on a single day goes back at least to the third century. All Saints Day celebrates the baptized people of God, living and dead, who make up the body of Christ. On this day or the following Sunday, many congregations will remember the faithful who have died during the past year.
