As December unfolds, we’re reminded of the power of reflection. The year is winding down, and the quiet of winter invites us to pause, look back, and appreciate the journey. At Santa Maria, we’re grateful for all we’ve accomplished together and the lives we’ve touched.

This season is a time for gratitude—recognizing the strength of community and the impact of every act of kindness. Though the year may be closing, the hope and change we’ve worked for continue to grow, one step at a time. Thank you for being part of this meaningful work!

In this month’s newsletter, we’re excited to share highlights from our recent events, and opportunities for you to get involved as we close out the year. Together, we can continue spreading hope and kindness throughout the holiday season and beyond.

We had so much fun having cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus last weekend! Together with the East Price Hill Improvement Association (EPHIA) and The Price Hill Branch Library, we helped to create some adorable family photos, holiday sugar rushes, and smiles to remember.

Thank you to everyone who donated for WCPO's annual Toy Team 9! So far, we have received over 800 gifts!!!!! We'd like to thank WCPO, Walmart, and Scripps Howard Fund for helping us make all of these Christmas wishes come true! Stay tuned for our holiday celebration recap in next month's edition, which will include some snapshots of the happy recipients of these wonderful gifts.

United Way of Greater Cincinnati is recruiting volunteers for their annual tax prep program, which includes assisting individuals and families who have limited resources in filing their tax returns. This hugely impactful program generated savings and refunds for community members totaling over $11.5 million just last year!

Volunteers can serve individually or in corporate groups as greeters, screeners, tax preparers, and reviewers. No expertise or experience is needed, but free training is provided and required! Visit UWGC.org/tax-volunteer for more information.
