Dear Friend,
The holidays may be behind us and the new year underway, but our season of gratitude to our supporters is year-round. You make our work possible every day.
Among many meaningful happenings this fall, the midterm elections were among the most exhilarating as our collective effort to have our voices heard effected real change.
More than 100 women were elected to office, including over 40 women of color, and women won more seats in Congress than ever before. Women—and women of color in particular—led as candidates, organizers, volunteers, activists, and voters to achieve many historic firsts in representing the true diversity of our communities like never before.
Thanks to a $25,000 grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation, we are helping women overcome barriers in starting, growing, and sustaining businesses. Our Start Up and WEN on the GO! programs are giving women the skills and advice they need to succeed.
As we helped create equal opportunities for women to learn, grow, and thrive, we supported our youth in tackling racism through Teens Talk About Racism leadership conference and brought together our Racial Justice Task Force to collaborate on ways to dismantle racism in our communities.
We helped educate the public on violence prevention through events like Week Without Violence and the Teaneck International Film Festival screening / panel discussion of
The Rape of Recy Taylor
.
We ended the year by celebrating women’s success and contributions in our 43rd Tribute to Women of INfluence (TWIN) awards.
We hope you enjoy looking back at our accomplishments together from October through December 2018 in this quarterly newsletter.

This generous grant will enable us to expand our reach and programs that support women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses. We are focused on strategic training designed to help women be successful in achieving their goals and creating financial self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.
