Season of Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving Break right around the corner, beginning November 24th thru November 28th, this newsletter is dedicated to sharing important updates, highlighting some happenings on campus, and preparing everyone for the final push toward the end of the fall semester.

Whether you are traveling home, hosting family, or spending the holiday quietly, we hope your Thanksgiving is filled with joy, peace, and good company. Please remember that the university will observe holiday hours, and all administrative offices will be closed from November 27-28.

Happy Thanksgiving! We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed for the final push of the semester.

    A favorite student tradition, RMU Dining holds a traditional Thanksgiving celebration in PNC Food Court before students leave for Fall Break.

    Fall Commencement - 4:30 p.m.
    UPMC Events Center

    We are excited to celebrate our students receiving their Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Fall Commencement. Guest tickets will not be required and doors open at 3:00 p.m.

Preparing for Winter Break

  • Resident students should make plans to depart campus within 24 hours of their last final, or by December 13th at 12:00pm, whichever comes first. Halls will reopen January 16th at 9:00am, students may not return to campus until this day and time unless approved to do so BEFORE departure for winter break.
  • Students are not permitted to stay in the residence halls over the break, except for limited circumstances (e.g. in-season student athletes and approved student workers).
  • We will be reaching out to your student via email with details on closing expectations and the link to apply to stay on campus for any time during the hall closure.

Important Dates

  • November 15th: Fall Commencement student only RSVP to ceremony deadline
  • November 16th: Regalia deadline for home delivery plus shipping fees
  • November 19th: Pre-order regalia pickup at Spirit Store - Patrick Henry 2nd floor
  • November 24th - 28th: Thanksgiving Break
  • November 27th - 28th: University Closed for Thanksgiving
  • December 9th - 12th: Final Exams
  • December 12th: Spring 2025 Tuition Due
  • May 15th: Graduate Spring Commencement
  • May 16th: Undergraduate Spring Commencement
