Celebrating our 23rd season, Conspirare is a Grammy® award-winning choral ensemble that creates exceptional concert experiences. With the world-class artistry of its extraordinary voices and the incomparable direction of conductor Craig Hella Johnson, Conspirare is one of the finest choirs performing today. Inspired by the power of music to transform lives, Conspirare performances are musical magic.

Conspirare will celebrate the expressive power and range of one of America's most beloved poets. Hear some of the countless musical works that she has inspired, including the premieres of two newly commissioned pieces. This intimate recital will feature soprano Sonja DuToit Tengblad,
tenor Eric Neuville and pianist Michelle Schumann.

Wendy Barker author of Lunacy of Light: Emily Dickinson and the Experience of Metaphor (as well as numerous collections of her own poetry) will discuss the Amherst poet's use of metaphor to challenge 19th-Century restrictions on women. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

Craig Hella Johnson leads Conspirare in this vibrant tribute to revered Chilean poet and statesman Pablo Neruda (1904-1973), whose life-affirming poetry is the inspiration for these captivating choral settings by Donald Grantham, Shawn Kirchner and Cary Ratcliff, all recorded here for the first time
