Dear members, partners and friends of GABC!

On behalf of the GABC and its board of directors I want to wish you Happy Holidays and a prosperous and healthy New Year.

We had the pleasure of seeing and meeting many of you recently at our GABC Holiday Gala (see below) and enjoyed this occasion very much. As I mentioned in my welcome remarks at the time, we were excited to celebrate with you another year that has been both rewarding and challenging. While COVID-19 was still a major disruptor in 2023, we also learned to live with the pandemic and how not to get very sick from the virus. Many of you and the German companies represented here in New England had a major role to play in mitigating and managing the disease or the pandemic over the last 3 years - a big thank you to all of you!

We are encouraged to bring you more in-person events in 2023, and we look forward to continuing to build our German-American business community here in the Greater Boston and New England region together with you. I invite you to reach out to me or the Executive Director at any time with feedback and ideas. Our organization thrives because of the relationships we have and the members we know!

In this spirit: Stay warm, safe travels and stay healthy. And most importantly, enjoy the Holidays with your loved ones.

Happy holidays and a very happy New Year.

See you in 2023.

What A Great GABC Gala!

GABC's Annual Holiday Gala ✨ was back and felt, three years after our last one, better than ever! Our corporate and professional members, guests and friends gathered at the Belmont Country Club on Thursday, December 8th for an evening of festive celebration, lively conversations and delicious dining. In his welcome speech, GABC president Jan Hartmann, emphasized the importance of the return of such a large networking event for the membership and for the vibrant German-American business community at large in this region. In her remarks, German Consul General Dr. Sonja Kreibich reflected on the key political and economic drivers of 2022 and the state of U.S.-German relations.

We would like to thank our premium Gala sponsors MilliporeSigma and Karl Storz Endovision for their support.  Special thanks to the New England Patriots for bringing some football excitement to the Gala by donating tickets to Gillette Stadium and presenting a Pats jersey to Consul General Kreibich. Thank you also to Behnisch Architekten, TÜV SÜD America and Westernacher Consulting for their support!

Looking forward to 2023 and working with the membership on exciting programming, productive networking and impactful exchanges.

YP Holiday Stammtisch

The GABC Young Professionals joined forces with GAIN (German Academic International Network) for a lovely and well attended Weihnachts-Spezial | Holiday Stammtisch at the Goethe Institut in Boston last week serving Glühwein, hot cider and loads of sweet Holiday treats. This event was also made possible thanks to the support of the German Consulate General in Boston.

Visit by Health Minister Karl Lauterbach

On the occasion of a visit in Boston by a delegation led by Germany's Health Minister Prof. Karl Lauterbach, GABC board member Mridul Agrawal was invited to discuss medical data use and security. The delegation visit took place at the beginning of December. GABC supported the Consulate in making connections for the delegation visit.
