Recycle the sign, donate the "H" stand

Yard Signs have an "H" stand. Underground Arizona is launching another campaign to get TEP to underground the 100 ft poles.

The cost of signs can be reduced if we have our own "H" stands. If you bought a campaign sign for your yard, the plastic portion is recyclable through Tucson’s Hard-to-Recycle Orange Bin program.and donate the stands by dropping them off at 1519 E Edison.

The JP Traffic Committee is working with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility to apply to install a set of chicanes to slow traffic at Santa Rita and Seneca. As part of the process, the committee is researching grants and must get the approval of nearby properties by circulating a petition.

If you live near that intersection, you might be asked for your approval to go forward with the project sometime in the near future.

Got old messy pots you don't want but can't throw out? Save your old pots. We can resurrect them!

Volunteers clean, paint, and seal to bring them back to life and they can be BEAUTIFUL!

AZ Game and Fish had advice for Jefferson Park at the recent meeting. With regards to Javelina:

REMOVE THE ATTRACTANT

• No bird feeders on the ground
• No waste on ground (including compost)
• No wet spaces (they love mud)
• 4' fence around garden/yard
• cat feeder elevated or in enclosed space
• trim base of shrubs (they like "dens")

SCARE THEM AWAY - banging with pots and pans, spray with hose, squirt guns

Funding shortfall: Where is the money? JPNA is asking. Thus far, no one is able to tell us how or if Phase 5/6 will be completed.

Laws and Area Plans

• Tucson has ordinances forbidding OVERHEAD lines on the Gateway and Scenic corridors.
• The U of A area plan calls for lines to be undergrounded.
• It is a bad idea to disregard laws and plans that were designed by Tucson residents.

The Future for All Tucson

• To allow the current pleas from TEP that they cannot go underground will set the groundwork for Tucson's future—overhead lines and massive pylons in many city neighborhoods.

City Council and Zoning Examiner Must Stand Strong

• The mayor and city council, our elected officials, are currently reviewing the TEP requests and should require TEP to comply.
• Tucsonans voted down Prop 412, which would have offered some monetary relief for TEP, and now we depend on the City to enforce the law.

On the 3rd Saturday of the month, 9:00 am., at the northeast end of Edison at Campbell Ave, neighbors meet to clean up the little parklet.

Thank you all who helped with the November clean up - the parklet needed it!

All garbage bags and tools are supplied and the company is great! We report the hours to Tucson Clean & Beautiful Adopt-A-Park Program.

It is a Code Violation to leave furniture and trash at the curb or in the alley. If the resident who left the items there will not dispose of it properly, you can report it. NEED A PERMIT? PDSD launched a Permit Dashboard in November 2023. The interactive dashboard provides insight into the permitting process. Users will be able to gain an understanding of review times, allowing staff and customers to pinpoint areas of improvement or excellence. Since the launch, PDSD has consistently met target review times more than 90% of the time.

Ward III is accepting furniture, cooking supplies, etc.—anything that might help someone set up a house. Drop items off at the Ward III office, 1510 E Grant (corner of Grant and Vine). Is the item too big? Give Ward III a call for pickup at (520) 791-4711; they will come, pick it up, and take it to the Wildcat House, where it will help folks who are just getting into housing.
