Community Spotlight: Another Successful Turkey Giveaway at ECC
Senator Steven Bradford, in partnership with El Camino College, distributed over 1,200 turkeys and pork roasts, 800+ grocery boxes, and 200 Ralphs gift cards to families in need this holiday season. Senator Bradford continued this tradition, which he started as a member of Gardena’s City Council and then as a State Assemblymember.

“Thanksgiving is an opportunity to do something that we ought to do more often,” stated Bradford. “It can be difficult to find time to sit and reflect on the things we are most grateful for in life. Thank you again to all the participants that stopped by and to El Camino College for hosting our event this year.”  View the full press release HERE.

Department Spotlight: Forensics Team Earns Top Honors
The El Camino forensics team recently attended four tournaments and amassed enough points at each to win the overall top sweepstakes award.

The tournaments included The Watson-Lancer Invitational at Pasadena City College; The Crossman Invitational at El Camino College; The Dahlin Invitational at Palomar College; and the Griffin Invitational at Grossmont College. Each tournament had between 14 and 17 two- and four-year colleges and universities.

At the Dahlin, El Camino swept the open (highest division) awards in Impromptu Speaking. At the Griffin, El Camino advanced two of the four open division teams in open Parliamentary Debate elimination rounds, and a shocking six of the eight in novice.
El Camino ended up taking most of the awards, including the top five. Congratulations to the entire team, which was lead by Francesca Bishop (Director of Forensics), Joseph Evans, and Brittany Hubble.

Donor Spotlight: Redondo Beach Rotary Continues to Give
For over eight years, the Redondo Beach Rotary Club has been a generous Foundation donor, supporting scholarships, the Warrior Pantry, Warrior Closet and Community Partners programs. The club even purchased a brand new commercial refrigerator for use by the Warrior Pantry.

On October 12th, El Camino College was invited to speak to their weekly meeting, where Sharonda Barksdale, Kim Cameron, and Andrea Sala provided an educational overview of the College, Foundation, and the basic needs services offered to students. A check was presented to the Foundation and food items were donated to the Warrior Pantry. Thank you so much Redondo Beach Rotary -- we truly appreciate your continued support!

'Tis the Season of Giving
It takes the giving hearts of our generous donors to offer exceptional programs for our students. We want to thank everyone who donated this #GivingTuesday!

We had 123 entries into our LA Rams tickets promotion (gifts over $50). Congratulations to Dipte Patel, ECC Dean of Counseling & Student Success, who won the LA Rams vs Seattle Seahawks package! And thanks to our special donor (who wishes to remain anonymous), for gifting the Rams tickets to promote giving!
Help us finish 2022 strong! Your generosity can help change a student's life. Please consider making a gift to the El Camino College Foundation and designating it to a cause that is meaningful to you.

Why do we give to the El Camino College Foundation? We give because we believe in El Camino's mission. We give because we love the faculty and staff. We give because our lives and our families' lives have been positively impacted by ECC. We give because El Camino is OUR Community College. This is who we are and why we continue to support the ECC Foundation.

The El Camino College Foundation (EIN 95-3874302) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to fund and support student success programs at El Camino College.
