"Season's Greetings"

Everyone at Guy's Trust would like to send our supporters around the world warm wishes for the festive season.
Since our last newsletter we are proud to tell you that...
  • the school we started building in Cambodia has opened.
  • the reconstruction of the school damaged in the Nepal earthquake has been completed.
  • the building of our third school in Cambodia and our second library in Nepal are underway.
  • and the fifth MantaWatch internship programme was reportedly the best yet.
Regrettably we had to cancel our annual quiz but hope to see lots of you at next year's event.
We would love you to scroll down to see some photos of the projects you've helped to fund and the various ways you've raised money.
With best wishes,
Vicky Joseph

CAMBODIA - the new school building at Kandal village
The new classroom block that we helped build with our own hands!
Inside one of the new classrooms
Ratana Ath told us, " there were holes in the roof of the old school building so we couldn't sit in the classroom when it was raining. Now we feel so happy to have a new building and we are not bothered by the rain anymore."
The new toilet block
The 307 children now have proper toilets and no longer have to go to the bushes nearby. This has created a more hygienic environment and will help to encourage girls not to drop out of school.
NEPAL - rebuilding Chapakharka school after the earthquake
The temporary classroom
The new school
NEPAL - building a new library at Dabhung Thanti School
INDONESIA - the MantaWatch interns; where are they now?
Twenty marine science students have now been through the Guy Joseph-MantaWatch internship programme. They have all contributed to the vital research which will help to protect the endangered manta ray and for many of them the programme has also been a launchpad for a successful career in marine conservation. You can read about what they are doing now here.

And last, but not least, some of this year's fundraisers
With huge thanks to all our Marathon and half Marathon runners, trekkers, cyclists and builders. Without you and those who sponsor you and donate, Guy's Trust couldn't offer educational opportunities to the hundreds of children that we have helped over the four years since the charity was established.
