Market Updates

Fresh Shrimp - Local season is slowing down

  • Larger sizes of shrimp are getting harder to harvest
  • We do offer frozen East Coast Shrimp when fresh is not available


Domestic Dry Scallops - Prices will continue to rise

  • We should expect prices to continue to rise into the new year
  • It should be noted that next year's domestic quota will be shorter and issued in April, which will inevitably keep prices high
  • Imported alternatives are an option - please get in contact with a sales representative for more information


Local Crabmeat - Fresh season is over

  • We have a good supply of Virginia, pasteurized lump and jumbo lump to offer during the off season - available in 12# units
  • Fresh Venezuelan crab meat is a fantastic substitute if looking for a product with fresh qualities - available in 1# units


Fresh Domestic Flounder - Only N.C. state producing

  • North Carolina is the only state open for Flounder, leaving prices higher than usual
  • Virginia Flounder season will open in the New Year and we should see high catches in mid-January


Fresh Wild Rockfish - Heavy landings on local fish from the Chesapeake Bay

  • Sizes available: 2-4#, 5-8#, 8-15#, & 15+ fish
  • Jumbo fish should become more abundant in January


Fresh Maine Uni (Sea Urchin Roe) - Domestic season just opened

  • Available in 60 gram units
  • We can also accommodate Live Sea Urchin if interested - check in with your sales representative for more information
