Seasonal Shifts Enhance your Senses

As the warmth of summer gradually gives way to the cool embrace of fall, we find ourselves transitioning not only in seasons but in routines. This shift is a reminder of the beauty in change, much like the way leaves transform from vivid greens to rich shades of red and gold. Just as we adapt to new schedules and responsibilities, nature demonstrates its own graceful adaptation.

In the midst of these changes, let's not forget the incredible power of our senses to ground us. Step outside and let the cool breeze brush against your skin, awakening your sense of touch. Inhale deeply and relish the earthy scent of fallen leaves, engaging your sense of smell. Listen to the rustling leaves underfoot and the distant laughter of children returning to school, embracing your sense of sound. Observe the vibrant colors around you, from changing leaves to clear blue skies. Tingle your tastebuds with a bite of a fresh autumn apple.

By immersing ourselves in nature with all our senses, we can find solace and renewal. Let this be a gentle reminder that just as the world outside us transitions, our inner worlds can find balance too.

Wishing you a Fall season filled with refreshing moments.

Exploring Fair Hill with Voices of Hope

The Voices of Hope staff recently joined us for a session at the Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area in Cecil County. The landscape lent itself to some beautiful observations and insights. We got to play like kids again by the creek and enjoyed spotting crayfish, great blue herons, and two horses that were trying to cross the stream with their riders. We then spent some time meditating and reflecting by the water's edge. As we finished our session, a majestic bald eagle soared overhead, bringing a sense of awe and wonder to carry us through the rest of our days.

Digging Summer at Masonville Cove

We enjoyed bringing Nature Worx to Masonville Cove this summer, in partnership with the Living Classrooms Foundation. The kids in these science-based programs discovered exciting new things about nature and learned how to use their senses to fully immerse themselves in the experience. We loved the enthusiasm and curiosity these young people displayed. Wishing everyone a great school year!

Featured Feedback!

We survey clients at the end of our sessions to document the effectiveness of our programs. We always enjoy the written comments and wanted to share some of our participants' personal experiences with Nature Worx.

Exciting new partnerships

We are honored to receive a grant from the Teddy Webster Memorial Fund to support the mental health of young people in Harford County. The funds will enable us to design and deliver programs that teach students how to mindfully connect with nature in ways that boost their resiliency and coping skills.

SAVE THE DATE: Party for a Purpose is hosting an after-hours party to raise money for Nature Worx! The event will be held Friday, September 29 at 11 p.m at True Chesapeake Oyster Co., 3300 Clipper Mill Rd. in Baltimore. A great local band, Freedom Enterprise, will perform.
