The Impact of Healing Hands

Claudia Galindo, a single mom of two teenage boys, came to Healing Hands Ministries after being referred by her sister. At the time, Claudia was suffering from high blood pressure as well as being overweight and pre-diabetic. She became worried that her boys may develop the same health issues and brought them to Healing Hands too. For the first time in her life, she had access to see a dietician who helped her change the way she prepared food and a medical doctor to help monitor her health. As a result, she lost 28 pounds and her son lost 20 pounds. Claudia said that Healing Hands changed her life. She no longer is pre-diabetic with high blood pressure because she changed her diet and is living a healthier lifestyle.

Funding Our Growth

In February, Crystal Charity Ball chose Healing Hands as one of it's 2020 beneficiaries! We are incredibly grateful for the money Crystal Charity Ball has so generously raised, as it will provide HALF of the funding needed to complete the third floor expansion of our Vickery Meadow Campus. At this time, we are seeking funding that offers naming opportunities for classrooms, a food pharmacy, and a demonstration kitchen. The space will be designed to meet the needs of our diverse uninsured and refugee population to provide health education classes and provide space for our shared medical appointments with patients suffering from diabetes and other similar conditions. Rosewood Vision Health Center

At the beginning of 2020, we launched our Rosewood Vision Center, filling a gap and offering much needed vision care services for our uninsured and underinsured patients. Since opening, and despite the pandemic, our vision center has had close to 1,000 patient visits.
