While Louisiana has the best child safety seat law in the country, parents and caregivers must use the safety seats properly and ensure children are in the right safety seat in the right position, LHSC Executive Director Lisa Freeman said.
“Last year, seven out of 10 children ages 5 and under, who died in a crash in Louisiana, had not been properly secured in a child safety seat,” Freeman said. “National Seat Check Saturday is a great opportunity to make sure you have the right seat for your child and that you’re using it properly.”
Certified technicians will be available at each location to adjust your child safety seat for your child’s age and size. The technicians will be available from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
