"Hi Bill. Thanks for asking. I praise God that He orders our steps and puts us where He wants us to be. I sat down on the train beside a man with a Vancouver Canadians hat and we started to talk about the game and then he told me that he was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1998, traded to the Hamilton Tiger Cats, but had to retire due to injury after one year. We talked easily for a while and I shared why I was there and then I asked him if he ever thought about Jesus. He said once in a while so I shared how we all will be judged on whether we believe in Him or not. I encouraged him to read the Bible. I thank God for that opportunity/ Please pray for Eddie Williams.
As I neared the Skytrain turnstile in Vancouver, I passed a homeless man. When I asked him how he was doing, he told me that he had some health and addiction issues. I asked him if he had any hope in his life and when he said no, I shared my own testimony of being jailed and hospitalized in Europe, brought back to Canada with a medical escort and finally calling out to God for his mercy and forgiveness for following my own way. I assured him that God could be his refuge and strength and that if he came to Jesus, He would never turn him away. I told him that I would pray for him. Please pray for Abu. Then I approached three other people sitting nearby and offered each a "Who is Jesus" tract. One man said no, one was slumped over a dope pipe and unresponsive, but when I approached a young woman and showed her the tract, she said she had enough knowledge about Jesus but didn't want to talk about Him just then. She did take it and politely thanked me for stopping by. Please pray that she would accept Christ as her Saviour and her friends also would know who Jesus is. I thank God for these opportunities to serve Him.
Thanks again for your leadership over the weekend. I will pray that God will continue to guide you in the months ahead. Ernie
