Schoolhouse Arts Center Needs Our Help!
Schoolhouse Struggles Into 2021 Under COVID-19

Schoolhouse Arts Center, like most small businesses, has spent the past year trying to survive the restrictions of the Corona Virus pandemic. But it has been especially hard for Schoolhouse because non-profits generally have little or no reserves to carry them through a normal year, much less the crushing restrictions made necessary to control a pandemic.

Schoolhouse Arts Center was established in 1988 by retired Broadway director Hank Beebe of Portland. For 32 years it has brought the enjoyment and experience of live theater to the Sebago Lakes region. It provides youngsters and adults with the opportunity to develop new skills in live performances for their friends and neighbors. Schoolhouse has been a fixture in Standish through good times and bad. It has endured economic recessions and bad times unscathed. But 2020 and the COVID pandemic have brought Schoolhouse to its knees.   (Read full Press Release Here.)
