Gala A Success!

2024 Campaign Fundraising Goal Reached!

We are committed to supporting our communities. Our supporters, including local businesses made our 5th year Anniversary Gala a success. We raised our target goal of $15,000 from the event which put us over the top to exceed our $25,000 Community Fundraising campaign for 2024. Our ongoing community projects help support low-income seniors and veterans, allowing them to safely age at home.

Raising these funds allows us to continue new projects. We pay the costs up front and our volunteer labor is free. But we ask the homeowner to pay back the cost of materials and outside labor over time. The cost of replacing a deck can be $3000 to $4000. A new ramp is over $5000. A replacement door can be $1500. But a roof replacement can easily cost $8000 to $15,000. Thanks to those that supported our Gala or donated to our 2024 Campaign we will continue to help people in need in the Lakes region.

Thanks to Tom Ewig, our lead organizer, and to the committee members Claire Crocker, Jude Cook, Lorraine Gallagher, Deb Cassidy and Dori Madsen., who worked tirelessly to make the Gala a success.

Awards

Hancock Lumber has been our primary supplier for building materials over the past five years. They treat us like we were their BEST customer and give us great service on every project. Hancock has provided grants totaling $15,000 to support our community projects to help those in need. They also give a substantial nonprofit discount on every purchase we make, which is a huge help to keep our costs down for our low-income homeowners. Hancock Lumber cares deeply for the community and has come through for Sebago Fuller Housing again and again. We are grateful for their support, and proud to honor them with our Sebago Fuller Housing Community Service Award.

Allen Sample was honored as the first recipient of the William A Turner Volunteer Award. Bill Turner is a local community leader and volunteer who was responsible for bringing Fuller Center for Housing to Maine. The award is presented to a volunteer who demonstrates the commitment to our mission, is always willing to help with local projects, and has a lasting impact on the families that we serve. Allen has volunteered on 12 different projects over the past 4 years, and has worked close to 250 hours of community service. Allen works independently, but is also a good leader managing multiple project teams on volunteer days. Allen is always willing to help, even on short notice, and follows up with homeowners in between project days. Thank you, Allen, for being so generous with your time and talents to help families in need!

Veterans Day Project Volunteers Needed

We are planning projects for Veteran's Day, both Saturday, November 9 and Monday, November 11, 2024. We will work on several projects including at least two for local vets. The tasks will involve door replacements, weatherization, new handrails, outside clean-up and more. You can sign-up to volunteer on our website!
