Coffee & Conversation at 2B | Where Belonging Begins
Beginning Sunday, June 7

Not because I have mastered it. Quite the opposite. I have noticed that when I go too long without rest, I don't just become tired. I become smaller somehow. My patience shortens... | | | | |
This summer, we’re excited to offer something special for our fifth graders! Beginning June 7th, those who have completed fifth grade will have their own Sunday School class upstairs as they begin the exciting transition from Children’s Ministry into Youth Ministry later this summer.
Fifth graders are in such a fun and important stage of life. They’re growing in confidence, asking bigger questions, forming deeper friendships, and beginning to discover who they are and how they fit into the life of the church. They’re outgoing, curious, energetic, and ready for new challenges—which is exactly why we’re launching a Sunday School class called The Bridge.
Led by Kacee and Nathan Harvey, The Bridge is designed to help ease the transition while creating space for students to connect, grow, and explore their faith in age-appropriate ways. The class will meet upstairs in the last classroom on the right.
Throughout the month of June, students will explore the theme Distinct- looking at what makes Jesus unique, what makes the Church unique, and what makes each of us uniquely created by God. Together, they’ll discover how their own gifts, personalities, and passions can be used to serve God right now.
We’re so excited for this special group of fifth graders and all the ways they’ll grow this summer as they begin crossing The Bridge into this next season of faith and community.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Krystal.

One of the things I’m most excited about this summer is all the ways our students will have opportunities to connect, grow, and just have fun together. We have so many great things happening in 2B Youth, and I can’t wait to see what this summer brings.
We’re kicking things off with our 2B Leaders Summer Camp coming up June 1–5, This camp is always such a meaningful experience for our students and a great chance to build friendships and grow in faith together.
Don’t forget—we also have Youth Choir every Sunday at 5:00 PM and Youth Ministry activities on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM all summer long. And trust me, there’s even more summer fun still to come. I’m so excited for all that’s ahead and hope your family will be part of it with us!

MAIN EVENT FAMILY NIGHT
2B Summer Nights
One of the things Krystal is most excited about this summer is creating more space for our families to just be together—laughing, playing, and building relationships in a way that fits real life.
That’s where 2B Summer Nights comes in.
Throughout the summer, we’ll be hosting a series of evening events designed especially for families. These are simple and fun opportunities to connect and make some really good memories together. No pressure, just presence.
And we’re kicking it off with a crowd favorite.
📍Main Event Lubbock
📅Tuesday, June 23 at 5:30 PM.
💰$10 per person (with a $30 max per family) includes:
- 4 hours of bowling, laser tag, and billiards
- An arcade card with 2 hours of game time
- 2 slices of pizza
- A refillable soft drink
It’s one of those nights where you can just show up and enjoy.
A quick note: this is a family event, so parents will need to attend with their kids (but honestly, that just means you get to play too).
Registration is open now and will close on June 19th, so be sure to sign up soon!
Because sometimes the best way to build belonging in the church is by having fun side by side.

Stewardship Spotlight:
Did You Know?
Whether you know it or not, the state of Texas has written a will for you. Upon your death without a written will or proper beneficiary designations, your property will pass to your heirs according to rules of distribution established under Texas law. The distribution rules vary, depending on numerous factors including: (i) your marital status, (ii) whether you have children, (iii) whether you have children by a prior marriage, (iv) whether your property consists of real property or personal property; and (v) whether your property is separate property or community property. The Texas rules governing the distribution of your property upon your death can be replaced with the terms of a properly written will of trust agreement, and by the beneficiary designations on your various financial accounts, IRAs, insurance policies and investment contracts. If you are uncertain how your assets will be distributed upon your death, consult with your attorney, financial planner and other professionals to obtain assistance and guidance and to avoid unintended consequences in the distribution of your property.

CONVERGE Youth Sunday
Sunday, June 14 our worship service will be led by a combined youth choir of students from South Main Baptist in Pasadena, Texas and students from Second B. This youth choir event is called CONVERGE and began 20 years ago at FBC San Marcos, Texas. Converge occurs once a year in either a weekend or full week format and has involved 2-5 churches collaborating each year. It was designed to encourage worship, service, ministry, and fellowship among young people. It has been hosted at churches in San Marcos, Houston, Pasadena, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Dallas, Tyler, San Angelo, College Station and others. I am excited Second B will host this in Lubbock for a week this year.
Our students and sponsors will be singing/leading here at Second B, FBC Cotton Center, FBC Floydada and High Point Village. During the week, they will also sing at two retirement communities in Lubbock and one in Amarillo. Converge participants will be leading Summer Fun Camp from 9am-noon each morning for k-5th children here on our campus. Several evenings will center around fun and fellowship through swimming, Go-carts, mini-golf and culminate Thursday with a visit to Palo Duro Canyon to experience the musical “Texas.”
I look forward to June 14 and sharing this group with you and sharing our church family with this group. Thanks for your prayers in preparation for this and gifts that make an experience like this possible for our young people.
