Seeking Additional Ushers

Ushering on Sunday morning is an opportunity to meet and welcome members and visitors, and to be of service to Second Presbyterian.  All it takes is a smiling face and a friendly attitude. You may usher as frequently or infrequently as you wish, but the schedule is usually once a month.  There are also a few instructions for new ushers.

If you are interested in contributing in this way, please text or email

Welcome, Brittiany Kaha

Media/Communications Coordinator

My name is Brittiany Kaha. I am married to my husband, Kalei. I have three children: Natalie (13), Caleb (11), and Joanna (8). We have been in Kentucky for the last three years, and I’m originally from central Georgia. My family just moved to the Knoxville area and I believe it may be the most beautiful place we have ever lived.

I graduated from Western Governors with a Master’s in Business and served as a Marketing Director in Northern Kentucky. I’ve been the Children’s Ministry Director and Marketing/Communications Director for a local church.

Our family enjoys traveling, outdoors, camping, and video games. I like to cook and read in my personal time. We like to stay active, and on weekends you can usually find us at a festival, concert, or doing outdoor activities.

I look forward to being part of the team at Second Presbyterian and meeting you.

Brittiany will be staffing the reception desk and answering the phones on Tuesday and Friday, beginning in mid-June.

Combining on-site and remote work, she will be producing future versions of the newsletter (2nd Edition) and all of our weekly emails, among other duties, so you'll also need her email: bkaha@2ndpres.org.

Compassionate Cuisine

Wednesday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m.

The Connect and Cooking teams collaborate to create homecooked meals twice each month. Team members gather safely at the church to package them into individual portions, then distribute to some of our members who are living in their homes but may not be getting out and about to pick up dinner or groceries.

The teams would love your help in cooking and/or delivering meals!

For more information or to volunteer, please contact

Leslie Matthews: flowlilly@gmail.com or 865-765-0549.

Come Join the Choir!
If you are interested in lending your voice to the choir, we invite you to come to the sanctuary at 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings for choir rehearsal.

No experience necessary – just a willingness to sing praise to the Lord!

If you like to shop, this month (May)

the FISH Pantry mission is in special need of the following household and personal items:

 -Liquid Dish Soap

 -Shampoo

 -Deodorant

 -Toothpaste

Our once-a-month FISH team receives phone call requests for food and these additional items; they are then sorted, packed, and delivered to each client's household.

All donations should be newly purchased, and any quantities would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact the church office (865.523.2189 or bsmith@2ndpres.org)

if you have items you would like to drop off at the church.

PLEASE DO NOT DONATE FOOD (other than for pets).

Please also note...

Thanks to your generosity, we have plenty of the following items for now:

bath soap, toilet paper, and both children's and adult diapers,

so we do not need more of those items at this time.

Did you know? This list changes monthly to reflect current needs!

Thank you!
