WEDNESDAY HEALING SERVICE & STUDY RECESS

Please note that the Wednesday Healing Service and Study will recess for the month of June. We will resume our regular gatherings in July. We pray this season offers everyone a time of rest, renewal, and refreshment.

Juneteenth Community Worship Service

Join us as we gather to celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and giving thanks for the ongoing journey toward freedom, justice, and reconciliation.

First Presbyterian Church of Warren

While Juneteenth is officially observed on June 19, our community celebration will take place on Thursday, June 18, allowing congregations and community members to come together in worship and fellowship.

The service will feature prayer, music, scripture, and reflection, with The Rev. Robin Woodberry serving as the preacher for the evening.

Come join us as we honor the legacy of freedom, celebrate the strength and faith of those who came before us, and recommit ourselves to God's work of justice, reconciliation, and hope.

Summer Worship Schedule

From Sunday, July 5 through Sunday, August 30, we will move to our summer worship schedule with one service at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel each Sunday. Services will include Holy Eucharist and minimal music. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to worship together as ONE congregation during the quieter summer months.

July 19^th- Favorite Hat Sunday

From fancy hats to baseball caps, cowboy hats to sunhats, wear your favorite headwear to church for a lighthearted and fun Sunday celebration. Creativity is encouraged!

Experience a little Christmas joy in the middle of summer!

August 2^nd -Favorite Color Sunday

Wear your favorite color and brighten the church with a rainbow of joyful expression.

August 9^th -Blessing of the Backpacks Sunday

On this Sunday, we will bless backpacks and school supplies for children in need. We invite everyone to participate by bringing school supplies—such as notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, or other classroom essentials—to be included in this special offering.

August 16^th- Disco / 70’s Sunday

Break out the bell bottoms, tie-dye, platform shoes, and groovy styles as we celebrate the 1970s. Peace, love, and fellowship will be in the air!

August 23^rd - Country/Western Sunday

Dust off your boots and cowboy hats for a Sunday full of country charm and western fun. Plaid shirts, denim, and a little southern flair are all welcome.

August 30^th- Bring Your Favorite Dessert Sunday

Bring a favorite homemade or store-bought dessert to share during fellowship time after worship. It’s a sweet way to enjoy community, conversation, and delicious treats as we end our summertime together.

Come as you are—or come, themed—and help us make this summer one of joyful worship and fellowship!

Grow in Faith and Understanding with EfM

Education for Ministry (EfM) is celebrating 50 years of theological education and formation. More than 120,000 participants around the world have taken part in this program, which began as seminary-level theological education for lay people.

EfM is a four-year study program, with participants committing one year at a time. Groups follow a Benedictine and Episcopal pattern of prayer, work, and study. Participants gather in community to deepen their relationship with God, explore Christian history and theology, discern their gifts, and grow in their life with Jesus. There are no tests or grades; the only expectation is that participants show up and take part in the conversation.
