To read some poems may feel like wrestling with an invisible opponent. They purposefully cause you to stumble over punctuation and slow down or the lines disorient you through the repetition or contradictions.

Other poems reach into your soul in with a scalpel-like precision that you do not really notice the words until their impact compels you to read them again in wonder.

At a recent Stewardship Commission meeting, Dave Heilman read the poem "When Giving Is All We Have", leaving the rest of us speechless. His voice and the author’s grace touched us in such a way that we pleaded with Dave to record this for you. Please take a look at the video posted on our Facebook page to hear him read. Such a gift!

Blessing to you,

Jo
