 The Brooklyn Oratory Parishes

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Boniface

January 12, 2023

Family Sunday at the Oratory

Our theme was Gift: God's gift of himself at Christmas; the 3 kings' gifts; what gifts we would give if we were there, and the gifts which we go out into the world to give every day. Here are some pictures of the kids making peg dolls of themselves carrying gifts for Jesus and putting them in the Nativity scene.

Initial Questions Requested In Advance

Hi! I certainly have ideas of what I would like to share at our Parish Gathering on Jan 24th. But I would also like to prepare, allowing me to speak to what's on folks' minds. So I'd ask that parishioners use this form to submit their questions in advance. (FYI - the form is configured to be anonymous.) Many thanks!

(Accompanied by the lay leadership of The Oratory Parishes, on Tuesday, January 24th I will host an in-person-only gathering. This will provide an opportunity to present and share plans for the coming months now that Fathers Mark Lane and Anthony Andreassi will be on leave. The gathering will take place at 7:00pm in our newly-renovated Parish Hall at Assumption. All parishioners from the Oratory Parishes are welcome to attend to talk a little, share a little, listen a little and pray a little. Thanks so much for the consistent words of support I've received these past days.)

Please Use Caution When Reading Your Emails

Once again, we have received notification of a potential email scam,

purporting to be from one of the priests, asking the recipient to buy gift cards and to respond upon receipt of the email.

No priest of the Oratory will ever ask you for money for his personal use or reach out to you in an emergency. All priests have emergency contacts if they were to need assistance.

DELETE the email and DO NOT RESPOND IN ANY WAY, it is not from us and it is a scam.

We also received word that a few parishioners have been hacked, so please use caution!!

Parish Office Closed Monday

The parish office will be closed on Monday, January 16 for the Martin Luther King holiday. In addition, there will be no 12:10pm Mass at St Boniface.
