Update on Renovations and Stewardship at Assumption
At the Masses this weekend, PPC members, Lisa Lambert and Bill Derrough, updated the community on Phase 3 of the Renaissance Project including the great news that the newly renovated hall should be available for use by May. Please note that these renovations and improvements along with addressing deferred maintenance issues were funded by the proceeds from the sale of the convent on Middagh Street in 2015 which has allowed us to pay for Phase 3 with minimal funds needed from our parishioners. There will not be any remaining funds from the convent sale to undertake an equally much needed renovation of the interior of the church or what will be Phase 4 of the Renaissance project.
In April, we will provide more information on Phase 4, as well as other opportunities for parishioners to support this effort. In the meantime, please consider joining us to increase our current stewardship and overall participation rate to support our spiritual home as we grow into the future in whatever way you can. We currently have 490 registered households at Assumption. Of those households, 128 gave toward our regular stewardship collections over the past year. Let’s build on our current parish participation today.
Click here to view the handout referenced in Lisa’s presentation showing pictures of the church hall and the fully replaced floors, and also a rendering of the completed side- yard including engraved paving stones.

400th Anniversary of the Canonization of Our Holy Father Philip!
On March 12, 1622, Pope Gregory XV canonized four great reformer saints: St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, St. Teresa of Avila, and St. Philip Neri alongside St. Isidore the Farmer, the patron saint of Madrid. In Rome, they were most proud of St. Philip Neri, the one Roman among the canonized, thus the ecclesiastical quip, "Today we canonize four Spaniards, and One Saint." Oratorians and Jesuits around the world celebrate this weekend in thanksgiving! Click here.
Pope Francis will preside over a special Mass on March 12, 2022 to mark the 400th anniversary of the canonizations. The anniversary Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Gesù in Rome and will be livestreamed at 11am (EST). www.ignatius500.global/live
