SECRET SPY STUFF
There is so much fun secret spy sort of things we do, but we rarely get to talk about. Here’s one we can talk about now. There’s a city in Asia where there’s always been government persecution of Christians. In the last few years the government persecuction has gotten much more severe. The government took extreme measures and was tracking individual church members activity of where they go day-to-day. One of these churches told us they resorted to a rotating schedule of where they would meet each week. Each person would only know where the next weeks church meeting would be if
they attended the current weeks meeting. Imagine this, you get sick and miss church this week. Now, if you attended this church you wouldn’t know where next weeks service would be.
This took quite a toll on the church. They committed not to communicate via phone or email about the church services to protect each other from the government. Even with this, government officials found and stopped church members on their way to Sunday services. After nearly a year of this, this church had to stop meeting. They went months without meeting. They reached out to us for prayer and we talked out possibilities with them. We were able to equip them with encryption software, basically giving them a way to communicate with each other without their government knowing. They were able to have their first meeting in months on Christmas Eve last year! Praise God! Four months later they are still meeting regularly face to face each week!
