Tom Boley's secret late-summer walleye location.
We've mentioned it before...but the time is NOW. The secret, late-summer walleye location that doesn't necessarily show up on the map = hard-to-soft bottom transitions. And walleyes + bait cruise 'em like a highway!
This new Tom Boley video (just posted today on the Target Walleye YouTube channel) breaks down exactly what he's looking for in this "Location of the Month" so you can duplicate and track down walleyes on your home water:

Tom kicks out this kind of content π― NON-STOP on his new phone app called "Walleye Now" which you can find on the Apple App Store ( Apple phones) or Google Play Store ( Android phones). Dude has a cool thing going on. π

How Korey Sprengel knots-up his dropshot rig.
The π Korey Sprengel breaks down his go-to knot for dropshotting β aka the Palomar β and how adding one extra step of running your line back thru the eyelet will make your hook stand out the right way:

Same exact way I rig mine, including tying those expensive tungsten weights on instead of just clipping them. π€
Pretty sure I caught the fattest MN bass ever. π³

So insanely bulbous, yet she still had the audacity to eat my 3/16-oz VMC Ned Rig Jig (chartreuse) paired with a Z-Man Big TRD (green pumpkin goby). π Brings a whole new meaning to the term "green carp" hahaha:
Pics don't do it justice. I posted a short video here to get a little better 3D look at 'er.
Funny enough that was the smallest fish (4.32 lbs) out of our 5-fish bag that went 22.75 lbs that day! The type of day that made the 3AM alarm clock π€’ worth it as we had our 5 biggest by 7:30AM!
Found them cruising the sand on an inside weedline and it was double after double...until they completely shut off and disappeared = great walleye impression! Definitely a morning I will never forget.
It was a nice change of pace from walleye fishing around here.... The whole getting to set the hook a zillion times things lol. For sure needed that.
The walleyes have been straight-up funky. To put it into perspective: We had our local walleye league on Tuesday (stacked full of local hammers who know these lakes well) and we were somehow able to sneak in a 2nd place with just 3 fish for 7-some lbs. Seeing tons of fish, but they just don't want to eat. Finally had to bust-out that 3/16-oz VMC Ned Rig Jig with a half of a crawler to get those handful of bites. I'm ready for fall when the gettin' is good....

Does your boat dog do this?
Came across this post from NE walleyenut Josh Johnson keeping his yellow lab hydrated:
Shoot, I'd drink from the toilet if it meant hopping in the boat with Josh and catch THESE:

Dogs are funny critters. Remember this throwback video of Brian Bashore's GSP who legit does his business off the back of the boat?!?! Good boy...very good boy:

Seeing stuff like this makes me realize how average my dog is. #AlmostMadeIt π€£β€οΈ

"As you pour yourself a tall glass of lemonade, you can't help but look at those ice cubes that you're about to drop into the glass and imagine yourself reeling in slab crappies, football-size perch, chunky walleyes, and some big nasty northern pike β all from the comfort of your ice house, where it's 20Β°F out."
- That's the Rapala crew talking about how despite it being the dog days of summer...we are less than 100 days away from ice fishing in many parts of the north. Madness!
We all have that one friend β maybe you are them lol β who is soooo obsessed with ice fishing that they talk about it all summer long:
Travis posted a short video on his Instagram of the end of the fight, and when they realized just how big the fish was. Absolutely LOVE how jacked the kid gets when the fish hits the net! π₯ No doubt neither of them will forget that moment!

These 3 facial expressions going on in this shot from The Next Bite TV are all so different, yet so awesome in their own way lol. You know it's a special caliber of fish when even John Hoyer is getting his "whoaaaa" on:

Hope you get to drool on a pig this weekend too! Thx so much for reading!!

He's in it now, but still can't answer that question.... Brett is one of those guys who majored in marketing, only because there was no such thing as a "fishing degree" at the time....
