April 2021 update: Applications for additional payment Applications for an additional payment of the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant for organizations impacted by the April 2021 health public health orders will open soon. The payment is calculated as 15% of the eligible organization's pre-curtailed monthly revenue to a maximum of $10,000. Eligible organizations must demonstrate a revenue reduction of 30% as well as meet the program’s other eligibility criteria.

Some of you are new to ALIGN or new to the sector and may not have had the opportunity to view the popular ALIGN Indigenous Protocol Process Videos Selected Elders, advisers, and service providers shared Indigenous teachings and current practices in work with Indigenous children, families, and individuals.These informative protocol videos showcase specific culturally-based approaches to practice and ceremony with indigenous service users. The individual presentations include teachings from highly respected elders and knowledge keepers in Alberta.

The Action Alberta: Communities Responding To Hate Project Invitation To Participate. The Action Alberta: Communities Responding to Hate project invites individuals with a passion to strengthen community relations, create communities of understanding and acceptance, and strengthen our collective response to hate, racism and discrimination to join us to help facilitate dialogues with stakeholders. Action Alberta will facilitate regional dialogues in Alberta starting in the fall. They are looking for a team of facilitators willing to work with them to facilitate these dialogues online via zoom. Six training sessions (3 hours each) will be held May - August 2021 to prepare the facilitators and they will then work in teams to bring together communities.

Strengthening Families is a research-informed approach to increase family strengths, enhance child development, and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The program helps service providers work with families to build protective factors.
Two-generation models target low-income children and their parents in hopes of interrupting the cycle of poverty. The framework emphasizes the importance of using family goals to target individual family members, setting individual goals, and aligning tailored and appropriate solutions. This lens also emphasizes prioritizing relationship-building over programs and designing flexible evaluation approaches, while working for systems change to support families in their efforts.
