Kentucky county clerks are united in securing elections

Election security is a top priority for our county clerks, and in every county in Kentucky, our clerks are reassuring Kentuckians that their vote is safe and protected.



The Kentucky County Clerks Association has posted a two-page document outlining the measures each county clerk office takes when focusing on election security.

The state of county bridges in Kentucky

Counties own and maintain more than 5,000 bridges in Kentucky, making up 35 percent of all the bridges in the state. As of 2024, 449 county-owned bridges in Kentucky were in poor condition, making up nine percent of county bridges. Most county-owned bridges (61%) were classified in fair condition while only 31 percent were classified in good condition.

County IT professionals invited to attend organizational meeting

Be extra cautious while traveling on the road during deer season

The number of deer collisions dramatically increases during the last quarter of the year, which coincides with the rut and most of the deer hunting season in Kentucky.


Peak deer season is October through December, and peak time for deer collisions is between dusk and dawn.

Remember, if you see one deer, there are probably more nearby.

Kentucky Industrial Access and Safety Improvement Program application window open

During this year’s legislative session, the Kentucky General Assembly enacted House Bill 1 designating $7.5 million per fiscal year toward railroad equipment, construction, reconstruction, improvement or rehabilitation of rail facilities or engineering work associated with capital projects. Applications for the program are due by Dec. 2, 2024.

Counties in the News: Week of Oct. 14, 2024

McLean County County Clerk Carol Eaton anticipates the upcoming general election will bring many of the county’s almost 7,000 voters out to the polls. Meanwhile, safeguards against improper voter registration and illegal voting are in place for the upcoming election, including systems to verify people coming to the polls to vote, and to verify absentee ballots.
