Security's history in helping people in Wisconsin access affordable health care goes back to March 1971 when we were founded as the Greater Marshfield Community Health Plan, the first health maintenance organization (HMO) in Wisconsin and the first rural HMO in the nation. In 1986, we became Security Health Plan.
We’re part of the Marshfield Clinic Health System, we couldn't do what we do without all of the high-quality providers in health systems and independent clinics who work with us throughout our state. Our mission at Security Health Plan remains to bring health care solutions to the farms, factories, businesses, schools, families and people who live right here in the communities we call home.
We’re proud to help our 210,000 members in all 72 Wisconsin counties, and beyond, reach their best health. We’re accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and known for our friendly, personal service.
