Attention All BridgePay T-Gate/PathwayLINK Gateway Users
BridgePay treats the security of our gateways as our utmost priority, and the BridgePay Security team is continually making updates to stay ahead of constantly evolving malicious activity being attempted on the gateway. To ensure our merchants and transactions are protected, the BridgePay Security team is making some immediate and necessary changes to all legacy T-Gate/PathwayLINK Gateways.
- Enhanced fraud detection against force capture transactions. Previously, if suspected fraud via a force captured transaction was found, the merchant account was deactivated. Effective immediately, the user account performing the activity will be deactivated along with the merchant account.
-
The ability to perform a force capture transaction is now only available in the highest security level of permissions, which is set by the BridgePay administrator. If your business performs force captures, please reach out to gateway.support@bridgepaynetwork.com with your merchant account code to make an official request to be placed on the exceptions list.
- All Gateway default users will need to be re-created and a stronger password selected in the near future. Further notification on the timing along with complete instructions on default user creation will follow this notification. We recognize this affects all gateway users as every gateway account has a default user. This is being required out of an abundance of caution to ensure all default users are enlisting the latest in password security.
We appreciate your business with BridgePay and your assistance to help ensure user security remains a priority for your merchants. Please be sure to educate your merchants on the importance of setting strong passwords, resetting default user accounts and passwords, not sharing this information with anyone, and storing usernames and passwords in a secure manner.
Please contact gateway.support@bridgepaynetwork.com if you have any questions regarding these enhancements.
