What an incredible show this year! Thank you to all of the artists and everyone who came to celebrate their work -- you made this our largest and most well-attended event yet!
The creativity and diversity in both categories were remarkable. In fact, the level of talent across the board made judging especially challenging and the caliber of artwork was so strong that Third-Place award and an Honorable Mention was added for each group, and the growing turnout in the Youth Division inspired a second Best in Show award specifically for Youth Art.
Congratulations to all of this year's winners!
Best in Show (Adult Art) - "Beatles Medley Trio" by Katherine Griffin
My pottery studio is my happy place and where I can escape everyday life as I focus on creating with clay. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and Beatles music evokes fond memories of dancing and singing with friends in those early teen years. I am inspired by Beatles music that I enjoy singing along to, and can relate to life (past or present).
Best in Show (Youth Art) - "Paper Beatles Concert" by Abbie Lannine
I’m from Charlotte, I’m 17 and I love art and all things vintage. I absolutely adore the Beatles! My favorite is Paul McCartney. I love the Beatles’ music, especially 1963-’66! Since I can’t go back to the 60's to see one of their concerts live, I made “Paper Beatles Concert,” a mixed-media collage made from paper I drew on, cut and glued. This is unofficial fan art.
The Beatles Art Sale continues online with artists receiving 80% of the sale price. Some artists chose to donate 100% to support Tosco Music's nonprofit programs. Buyers must be able to pick up art in person.
