DOWM Transforms Lives Through Learning

Dorcas Orphans & Widows Ministry delivers tailored after‑school tutoring that prepares children for higher education or skilled trades, laying a foundation for lifelong success. Parallel vocational workshops in sewing, bee farming, and other crafts equip widows and youth with practical skills that generate income from day one. Transparent reporting ensures every sponsorship dollar directly benefits the child, fostering trust and measurable impact. By nurturing a family‑like community, DOWM creates lasting empowerment that ripples across neighborhoods.

We are happy to announce that six of our DOWM girls will be attending the CROWN HER Summit thanks to generous sponsors who made this possible for them. These sponsors are giving each girl the chance to discover her potential.

Transparent Impact Builds Trust

Dorcas Orphans & Widows Ministry ensures that 100% of sponsorship funds directly benefit the designated child, guaranteeing clear and measurable outcomes. Vicki met John on a short term mission trip in 2018. She sponsored him through high school and vocational education. Practical vocational programs give participants marketable skills for entrepreneurship and self‑sufficiency.

Vocational Skills Create Income

  • John, after completing his high school education and vocational training is now employed and giving back to the community by helping to sponsor one of our DOWM students.

  • The community‑centered approach, combined with visible results, encourages continued engagement and sustained financial support.

DOWM STUDENTS SIT FOR KENYA NATIONAL EXAMS

KELVIN

Join us in this transformative journey, as we work together to foster independence and dignity for these promising young minds.

LUCY

As Lucy and Joseph diligently prepare and sit for their KCSE national exams throughout this month, and with Kelvin having recently completed his KJSEA, we stand at a pivotal moment in their educational journeys.

Each of these remarkable students is on the brink of significant transitions—Kelvin will soon embark on his high school adventure, while Lucy and Joseph are poised to take the next steps toward university, college, or vocational training.

JOSEPH

However, to ensure they are fully equipped for these opportunities, it is essential that they receive proper training in computer skills, a critical component of modern education.

With the return to school set for 2027, we urgently seek your support to provide these students with the necessary computers and classes. Your investment in their futures will not only empower them with vital skills but will also create a ripple effect of positive change within our community.
