At Adoption Option Inc., our commitment to supporting parents has always been driven by one simple truth: strong families build strong communities. Since officially earning our Parents as Teachers (PAT) affiliation in 2024, maintaining this gold standard of service—alongside our specialized PREP initiative—has allowed us to meet parents exactly where they are, no matter how complex the obstacles in front of them.
Today, that foundation is powering an incredible new chapter. We are proud to share that AOICWO has officially expanded our PAT affiliate program, Parent Resource Education Program (PREP), to reach across six local counties.
Expanding into six counties means we are breaking down geographic barriers for many families who previously lacked access to long-term, intensive parenting support. Whether navigating housing instability, mental health recovery, transportation challenges, or reunifying with their children, parents in our surrounding communities now have a dedicated partner walking beside them every step of the way.

Beyond Boundaries: Showing Up for Families When It Matters Most
My I Make A Difference Moment is about Carrie, a mother I began working with through our Advanced In-Home (AIH) program about a year and a half ago. When she completed AIH, we recognized that she would benefit from continued support and referred her to our Parent Resource Education Program (PREP). Because I had also transitioned to PREP, I was able to continue working closely with her.
Carrie has faced many challenges. She has experienced unhealthy relationships, is currently managing her own health concerns, and does not have stable housing. She also has very few people she can consistently turn to for guidance and encouragement. Read how steady relationships became a source of safety and hope.

It Takes a Village — and Our Community Showed Up!
On August 9, Adoption Option Inc. joined Ennis Center for Children and our friends at the Willew Lounge in Bay City for It Takes a Village, a back-to-school benefit supporting local children in foster care.
Thanks to the generosity of community members, local businesses, musicians, volunteers, and everyone who stopped by, we collected school essentials to help children start the new school year prepared and confident.
Guests enjoyed an afternoon of live music, karaoke, raffles, and giving—all for a great cause.

Bags & Beats brought the energy to Metro Detroit! 🎶 Our first annual event was an unforgettable evening filled with music, dancing, delicious appetizers, raffles, and community connection—all in support of children and families in foster care.
