The Cornerstone
Geoff D'Angelo!

Congratulations to Geoff who has just been instituted as an acolyte. It is one step closer to his ordination as a deacon. Acolyte enables a person in formation for holy orders to assist in the liturgy in an official capacity.

Please keep Geoff, his wife, Susan and his family in your prayers as they take this incredible journey!
A New Chasuble

Father Dermot holds up his new chasuble that the Parish Staff purchased for him in thanksgiving of his 20th Anniversary to the Priesthood and his recent birthday. Be sure to check out his fancy monogram!

What is a Chasuble? A chasuble is the outermost liturgical garnet worn by clergy for Eucharist.
Ministry Spotlight

What is the prayer line? A group who prays for the confidential intentions of anyone who requests prayer.

What's special about this ministry? The group doesn't have meetings, but unites their prayers from their own homes each day (on their own time) to pray for the needs of others.

How can I be a part of this ministry? If you have an email, are able to commit 15 minutes per day to pray for the prayer intentions that are sent to the group, and will keep these intentions confidential, you can be a part of the team!

A Big Thank You....Annual Pastoral Appeal
Countless services are offered in each parish, but in many cases, it is more effective for all parishes of our diocese to join together to fund central outreach.

To do so, each parish has been given a target.
We, at St. Stephen have already committed to 78% of the goal
with only 533 families out of over 4,500 families participating.

We only have only 22% left to go to make our 2020 goal!!!

Sts. Peter & Paul

This feast of Sts. Peter and Paul is celebrated together as the two "founders" or cornerstones of our Church. Peter, named Simon, was a mere fisherman, but became a "fisher of men" and the "rock" that Christ built the church upon.

Saul persecuted Christians for the better part of his early life, but renounced his earlier life when Jesus came to him and asked him, "Why are you persecuting me?' Jesus renamed him Paul. Paul went on to write the most books in the Bible!

Be sure to check out the St. Stephen Window. look for the man who is watching the stoning of Stephen. That is Saul! Just think, if Jesus can turn Saul into a wonderful, loving man....what can he do for us if we turn our lives over to Jesus?
In observance of Independence Day,, the parish office will be closed on July 3, 2020 so our clergy and parish staff can enjoy the holiday with family.

Office hours will resume on July 6, 2020 at 9:00 am-4:00 pm.

We pray that you, too, will have a safe and wonderful holiday!
