The San Diego Airport Authority just opened its brand new two million square foot building which includes a new central Rental Car facility. Good Earth Plant Company contributed consulting work on a potential large scale exterior living wall that would have been visible from across the runway. Instead, we installed a living wall unlike anything we have done before. The 12 foot tall memorial is dedicated to Eduardo "Eddie" Lopez, who suffered a fatal accident during the construction of the project.
You can see Eddie's living wall memorial just inside the building entrance. We hope you enjoy it too.
We received this letter from the Airport Authority thanking us for our work on this project:
Dear Kim, Philippe, Alissa and Jonathan, "Thank you for all of your hard work on our living wall memorial project. The result is absolutely beautiful, and it truly brings the space to life. The plant palette is even more vibrant and varied than I anticipated - and I know that's a result of your hard work to source the best possible selection of plants. I am proud to be able to share this with Eddie's family as a fitting tribute to his life. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Good Earth Living Architecture, and I hope we'll have the opportunity to collaborate again in the future." "Thank you all again."
