Bring Your Friends to Our Virtual Kickoff
What is it like to flee your home and escape to the Safe House for Women? What does moving look like through the eyes of a child in foster care? What happens when you seek help from First Call For Help? How great does it feel to graduate from One City’s Work Life Program?

View the United Way network of partners from the eyes of those your donations help! Our Virtual Kickoff September 15-17 allows you to spend your lunch hour with different partners each day who support our three focus areas: Education, Health and Financial Stability. Each tour will conclude with an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn the specific ways you can help these organizations and our community. Spend your lunch hour with us and visit a dozen partners in three days via Facebook Live.
Happy 20th Anniversary, BBBS!
Happy Anniversary to our local Big Brothers Big Sisters, marking 20 years in September! We are honored to be your partner in education, impacting over 4,500 kids in Southeast Missouri.

United Way of Southeast Missouri invests in two programs at BBBS. The mentoring program pairs caring adults with youth, and ABCToday encourages Attendance, Behavior and Coursework for all students in Cape Girardeau Public Schools. Both programs have been essential to youth in our community, especially when school has not been in session. Keep reading to learn about Kim who became Judy's "Big" in 2013 and was recently in her wedding!
Due to health issues, Maya has struggled with educational success, which disrupts her attendance at school. Attendance affects performance, and not surprisingly, Maya's counselors reported she also lacked motivation to attend and do her best.

ABCToday, a program of BBBS that UWSEMO supports, measures Attendance, Behavior, and Coursework for all students in the Cape Girardeau Public Schools. Read more to learn how ABCToday staff helped design a support plan that improved Maya's attendance by 50%!
