Posthumous Promotion

Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro posthumously promoted Cmdr. William “Willie” C. McCool to the rank of Captain, Oct. 7, 2023. Secretary Del Toro announced the promotion during halftime at the Navy-North Texas football game at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Jack Lucas Commissions

Under Secretary of the Navy Erik Raven participates inthe commissioning of the USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125), the first of the Flight III variants and 75th overall in the class. The 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Carlos Ruiz, USMC, placed Jack H Lucas into commission.
