Welcome to the April edition of Chieftain Connection. Just like spring, our schools are blooming with fresh energy and growth. Keep reading to discover some of the moments that brought us joy this month. | | |
Dear Chieftain Community,
As April comes to a close, it's inspiring to look back on all the meaningful moments that have filled our halls this month. Across the district, our students and staff have been hard at work, and the energy is contagious. From classroom goals being met and spring performances coming to life, to service projects, test preparation, and senior celebrations, there's no shortage of reasons to be proud.
These final weeks of school are full of momentum as we head into May. I want to thank our teachers, staff, families, and community for your continued support in helping our students finish the year strong. As always, I hope you enjoy reading this edition of the Chieftain Connection, a snapshot of the amazing things happening across Logan-Hocking School District.
Sincerely,
Christy Bosch, Superintendent

First Grade Fun
Mrs. Rice's students are building reading stamina, practicing retelling, and exploring both fiction and nonfiction stories. They love reading about their favorite characters like Biscuit, Pete the Cat, and Curious George.
Mrs. Maniskas' class has been learning about plants through hands-on exploration. After finding spring flowers around the school, students drew them and shared what each plant part does, connecting science with the world around them.
In Mrs. Merritt's class, students learned about community workers and economics. They filled out job applications, dressed up as their future careers, and presented to classmates and families.

Youth Art Month
Congratulations to Isaac McMichael for having his artwork selected for Youth Art Month (YAM) and displayed at the state art show! Isaac also received additional recognition from the Ohio Art Education Association for his frog drawing, which was featured at the Ohio Department of Education.
