Dear Friends,
We hope that everyone in our community is taking the necessary precautions and staying safe during this stay-at-home order. We are so grateful for the efforts of our staff, volunteers and community partners during this pandemic as we follow public health protocols. If you are in need of support to cope with an illness of a loved one or dealing with grief or loss; remember you are not alone. We are here for you and hope you will reach out to us directly and encourage others who may be in need.
The dream of opening the first hospice palliative health care facility in Vaughan has become a reality. We are very excited to now be in our new home,
the Mario & Nick Cortellucci Hospice Palliative Care Centre of Excellence. Our community’s new state-of-the-art palliative care hub is located at 9383 Islington Avenue, just north of Rutherford Road. We are determined to creatively find ways to expand our existing programs and services to support our community. We are working day and night to soon open our hospice residence and our wait list is growing. Our steadfast partnerships in the community with our health, home and community, hospitals and Ontario Health Teams continue. Providing compassionate and dignified end of life care, along with support to families and caregivers is our top priority. As we have all heard – it truly takes a village! On behalf of our team, our heartfelt thanks to each and every person who has been on this journey with us so far; we know our community will continue to support us so we can impact the lives of those in need.
We can’t wait until all of us can be together, face to face safely. We are being vigilant to follow COVID-19 protocols and restrictions. All visits and meetings will continue to occur virtually or by appointment only to protect everyone.
Stay tuned for information on our progress by visiting our website and more exciting news on our Virtual Open House to come!
Please keep yourselves and your loved ones safe!
Warmly,
