Dear Friends,
We hope that everyone is enjoying the beautiful August sunshine. Since our move to Islington Avenue, we have so much to celebrate...
We've quickly settled into our new space and opened the doors to Vaughan’s first hospice palliative healthcare hub including the 10-bed residence, and our community programs transitioned during the strict Covid-19 times. I am happy to say that we have been able to provide our important work with a dedicated team of staff/volunteers. We have met wonderful families, who have entrusted us to provide compassionate and dignified end of life care for their loved ones. It has been a privilege and honour for our team to serve our community and we are only getting started.
We celebrated our Grand Opening virtually and without our usual personal gathering. If you happened to miss it, I invite you to visit our YouTube channel to get a bird's eye view of Hospice Vaughan - Mario & Nick Cortellucci Hospice Palliative Care Centre of Excellence. I would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our celebration and the years of dedicated support in our journey! We are so grateful for all your kind words and best wishes. It means so much to me and the entire team.
We are thankful for the support of Dolce Media Group and City Life Vaughan Magazine in their July/August 2021 edition, for their beautiful article and video highlighting our new hospice home!
We are thrilled to announce that on Friday, October 15th, we are hosting our Living HeARTs Gala. This will be a live online experience, celebrating the arts community featuring the McMichael Art Gallery and local artists. The success of our gala over the years continues to be a result of the involvement of our generous community and people like you. We hope you get involved and share the news with everyone you know!
We are carefully expanding our community programs, 1:1 supports and small group sessions. Virtual programs will be ongoing. Our 24/7 hospice residence support continues to serve. As always, we are safely monitoring public health guidelines at Hospice Vaughan.
Warmly,
