A Gratitude Examen
Gratitude is one of the greatest spiritual practices. It opens our minds, calms our hearts, and rids bitterness of it's power. The "examen" is a spiritual practice to reflect on how we have responded to God's work in our lives. This Thanksgiving, consider your own reasons for thankfulness!

What Gifts have You given me?
How have I Received love from others?
How is grace at work in Aspects of my life story?
Do I Trust You to continue to bless me?
Where have I missed Your movements?
Have I used my Talents at the service of other?
Do I see a purpose for my life Underway?
How can I have the Discipline to thank You daily?
Help me give Everything back to You!

A Message From Our Rector
.
2020 is perfect vision and this year our vision has been scurried by so many natural events from fires to hurricanes, a world-wide pandemic, and national politics. May our vision return within our range of seeing the horizon easily!

Sometimes presidential election results in our 233-year history have fallen to a variety of possibilities from recounts in certain States to The House of Representatives settling outcomes. Important to remember the transition of power occurs without a revolution. An amazing country to which we belong! So, we wait and allow the process for results to unfold.

Talking heads from party leaders to media moguls exploring the what-ifs will provide a myriad of opinions. I recall the 1968 election days, my first election. A seminary professor gave a homily I remember: Be calm (he said to us 20-year-olds+); and pray that the Holy Spirt will guide winners with a good dose of humility and to who lose, a good dose of gratitude for having the desire to serve.
