Our nonprofits are constantly innovating, especially when the challenges facing our community feel overwhelming. Housing is one of those challenges. It's big, complex, and urgent. Affordable Housing Solutions of Henry County (AHSHC) saw that need and made the brave choice to take a first step.
Recently, AHSHC celebrated an open house for their first newly completed home in Middletown. It's proof that local solutions can take the first step and move the needle on homeownership opportunities for moderate‑income families.
Through the Henry County Community Foundation’s impact investing initiative, we’re proud to help build AHSHC’s vision. Our investment supports their work toward building five more homes, each one building a stronger, more stable community.
I’m inspired by the bravery and persistence of the AHSHC team and grateful to be part of an organization committed to meaningful, local change. This work is also a tremendous opportunity for Henry County. Our need for housing continues to grow, and every step forward, no matter how small it may seem, brings us closer to meeting that need.
