Leading Names & Issues: Conference Programme Preview
Creating Space for New Users

Read more below about Session Three of World ATM Congress' Conference Programme, "Creating Space for New Users," and see who is on the panel. Then view the full agenda online. Don't miss Session Three, from 9.15 - 10.30 on Wednesday, 9 March

Drones, remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), balloons, and commercial space vehicles are some of the multiple new users that are creating additional challenges to airspace management - from below, within, above, passing through, and even as undeliberate re-entries. Because they cannot be ignored or banned, the ATM industry needs to understand the unique opportunities and challenges that these users of rapidly developing new technology will bring. The opportunities and challenges of these small vehicles will be present in both currently controlled airspace and in Class G uncontrolled airspace.

What are the inevitable new requirements and new approaches/technologies from these new uses of airspace? How are we going to embrace change yet bring order into what might otherwise be chaos? How will current responsibilities and processes have to change? What should be the respective roles of regulators and airspace management?

Moderator: Marc Viggiano, President Emeritus, Saab Sensis Corporation, and CEO and Founder, Niteopark LLC
Sean Cassidy, Director, Strategic Partnerships, Amazon Prime Air
Parimal Kopardekar, Manager, Safe Autonomous System Operations Project and Principal Investigator, Unmanned Aerial Systems Traffic Management, NASA Ames Research Center
Patrick Ky, Executive Director, EASA
Iacopo Prissinotti, Head of International Strategies, ENAV
Elizabeth "Lynn" Ray, Vice President, Mission Support Services, FAA

The FIO Museum on Display
Restoring Aviation History

On display at Stand 997, the Fundación Infante de Orleans (FIO) is a museum of historic aircraft in Madrid. FIO features the broadest collection of aircraft that played prominent roles in the development of Spanish aeronautics. The FIO's collection currently has 40 replicas of 32 different models in perfect flying condition, representing a very important period of aviation history.

Proudly sponsored by The Boeing Company at World ATM Congress, FIO will display aircaft on the exhibition floor at World ATM Congress. In addition, don't miss FIO's airshow, taking place 6 March, prior to World ATM Congress, complete with planes from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
