Class of 1976 Sorting Ceremony and Cougar Cup Underway

Gross Catholic is gearing up to celebrate the Class of 1976’s 50-year reunion and the many festivities surrounding this incredible milestone!

On April 1, we invite all 1976 graduates and our fellow Golden Graduate alumni to join the student body for Cougar Cup and a special House Sorting Ceremony! This Cougar Family tradition is one we would love for you to experience alongside our students.

The celebration will continue the weekend of July 24th, when the Class of 1976 plans to gather on campus. Alumni can look forward to a school tour and time together in the Commons to reconnect, share a meal, enjoy beverages, and relive memories filled with laughter.

Alumni Spotlight

1993 Alumus Enters 30th Year as President at Catholic High School in Kansas

A recent issue of City Lifestyle magazine featured ’93 alum Brian Schneck, who is celebrating his 30th year as President of Thomas Aquinas High School in Johnson County. Brian has carried the Marianist education he received at Gross Catholic High School into his leadership, sharing those deeply rooted values with thousands of students and hundreds of colleagues over the years. His commitment to faith, service, and academic excellence continues to make a lasting impact on the school community. We are proud to call Brian a fellow Cougar alumnus and are grateful for his ongoing mission to share his faith and inspire young people every day.

Prayer Requests

Please keep senior Charlie Kuiper in your prayers. Charlie was recently hospitalized due to complications from influenza that have impacted his brain. His recovery will be a slow process, and he is in need of our continued prayers for healing, strength, and peace during this difficult time.

Let us come together as a Cougar community to show Charlie our support.

Please add Senior, Randy Guzman, to your prayers. Randy's father passed away on February 23, 2026. Many Gross Catholic students were able to attend his services to show their support to their fellow friend and teammate. Eternal rest grant unto him,

O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

As a reminder, please keep Oliver Vilivaar, a junior at Cornerstone Christian and member of the Gross Catholic baseball program. Oliver was recently diagnosed with cancer. He has undergone intense chemotherapy to shrink the tumor size which will now allow for an operation to remove it. Surgery is scheduled for March 6th.

One of our beloved substitute teachers passed away after a battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Astrid is also a grandparent to one of our current students. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

How can we pray for you?

Please send us the names of any members of our Cougar Family who need our prayers.
