October Business of the Month
Creative Caterers/Glendoveers
Since 1980, Creative Catering has been providing fresh, amazing farm-to-table meals for event catering in Rochester NY and beyond. With an experienced team of smiling chefs and staff, an unlimited imagination for creating unique dishes and menus, and a gorgeous venue, we have everything needed to create the perfect event for you. If you can imagine it, we can do it!

Glendoveers is our private property located in Penfield. This elegant woodland setting is situated on the Irondequoit Creek and provides a gorgeous setting for any event . Our on-site banquet facility can serve up to 200 guests, and both the interior and exterior can be decorated however you’d like.

The main building is more than sixty years old and has a rich history of hosting incredible events and beautiful weddings. We’ve remodeled over the years, adding in extravagant gardens, a cozy veranda, and placing skylights in the vaulted ceilings. We’ve been careful, though, to make sure that the building’s original charm hasn’t been lost. One of these charming features is the large wood-burning fireplace. This focal point can be used to create a romantic ambiance for your event.

All employers in NYS are required to comply with the new NYS sexual harassment regulations which go into effect Tuesday, October 9, 2018 .

As part of these regulations, employers are required to implement a sexual harassment policy and training program that meet minimum requirements. While draft documents were previously released in August, earlier this week the NYS Department of Labor and Division of Human Rights released the final version of the model sexual harassment policy, complaint form, and model sexual harassment training program.
The final model documents, along with detailed information and FAQs, are available on the NYS Combating Sexual Harassment in the Workplace website here.

PBC Smart Seminar: Speaking Your Customer's Language
How often are you frustrated with your message being mis-communicated? How many times did you explain the situation to someone and still got the wrong result?
The purpose of "Speaking your Customer's Language" is to increase the ability of recognizing signals in personality traits and to quickly adapt to others. One of the most important skills to obtain in the business environment is to become more versatile and flexible with various personality styles. Understanding specific personality traits through observable behaviors will unmistakably help reduce interpersonal tension and improve communications with clients, peers, supervisors and subordinates. Through active audience participation, Cindi Crowley of Sales360Plus will illustrate methods of integrating personality traits resulting in effective email communications, improved meeting outcomes and increasing employee relationships.
